The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has apprehended 32 individuals suspected of internet fraud in Bauchi, Bauchi State. The operatives of the Gombe Zonal Directorate of the EFCC made the arrest on July 25, 2025, in Sabon Kaura and Gwalameji areas of Bauchi, following credible intelligence linking them to fraudulent internet activities.

    - 2 PlayStation 4
    - 1 PlayStation 5

    - 1 Peugeot 406 car
    - 4 Neonx Auto bikes
Computing and Other Items:
    - 8 laptop computers
    - 1 Maxi E50KWH generator
    - 1 pistol

The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. This recent arrest highlights the EFCC's continued efforts to combat financial crimes in Nigeria. The commission's proactive approach in tackling internet fraud serves as a deterrent to would-be offenders and underscores the importance of cybersecurity in the country.

In a related development, the EFCC had previously convicted and sentenced two individuals, Ibrahim Aisami and Bunu Usman Dan-koli, to various jail terms for fraud-related offenses in Maiduguri, Borno State. These convictions demonstrate the EFCC's commitment to upholding the law and protecting the public from financial harm .
