Taraba State Govt Establishes University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology

The Taraba State Government has taken a significant step towards advancing agricultural innovation, scientific research, and climate resilience with the establishment of the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology, and Climate Action in Gembu, on the Mambilla Plateau.



Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas signed into law the establishment of the university, which is poised to be a centre of excellence in agricultural advancement, cutting-edge technology, and sustainable climate practices, not only in Nigeria but across the African continent.

The university's strategic location on the Mambilla Plateau, known for its unique topography, temperate climate, and rich biodiversity, will drive research, innovation, and economic development in Taraba State and beyond.

The creation of this university aligns with Governor Kefas' visionary blueprint for education, climate action, food security, and technological development, essential pillars for a thriving, self-reliant future.

The establishment of the Taraba State University of Tropical Agriculture, Science, Technology, and Climate Action is expected to have a positive impact on the state's economy and contribute to the development of the region.
