Police Arrest Child Trafficking Syndicate, Rescue 13 Victims in Anambra
The Adamawa state government, under the leadership of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has successfully arrested a 45-year-old woman, Mrs. Ngozi Abdulwahab, for her involvement in child trafficking. Abdulwahab was found to have sold 13 children from Adamawa state to a 65-year-old woman, Mrs. Uche Okoye, in Anambra state.
The children, aged between 5 and 9 years old, were rescued and are currently receiving care and evaluation at a specialist hospital in Jimeta. Preliminary investigations revealed that Abdulwahab sold her own biological child to Okoye. The investigation is ongoing, and the authorities are working to uncover more details about the child trafficking syndicate.
Governor Fintiri visited the children at the hospital, demonstrating the government's commitment to protecting the welfare of its citizens, especially vulnerable children. The government has urged the people of Adamawa state to remain vigilant, take proper care of their children, and report any suspicious activities to the nearest security office.
