Plateau Governor Congratulates Prof. Dakas on Appointment as Chairman, Nigerian Law Reform Commission

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has congratulated Prof. Dakas C.J. Dakas (SAN) on his nomination and confirmation by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Chairman of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission. Governor Mutfwang described the appointment as well deserved, recognizing Prof. Dakas's intellectual excellence, professional integrity, and commitment to advancing Nigeria's legal and governance systems.



The Governor noted that Prof. Dakas's appointment is a fitting recognition of his towering contributions to legal scholarship, constitutional reforms, and the promotion of rule of law. He recalled Prof. Dakas's remarkable academic journey, including graduating with First Class Honours in Law from the University of Jos, and his extensive publications on International Law, Human Rights, and Constitutionalism.

Prof. Dakas is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Plateau State. He also served as the Dean, Faculty of Law, University, University of Jos. Governor Mutfwang lauded Prof. Dakas's visionary leadership, resilience, and dedication to justice, equity, and national development.

The Governor also congratulated Professor Fatima Alkali and Dr. Uchenna Okorocha on their confirmation as Commissioners of the Nigerian Law Reform Commission. He prayed for divine wisdom, strength, and grace upon Prof. Dakas as he embarks on this noble national duty.
