Nnewi Economic Summit Concludes with Call for Cooperation to Drive Anambra's Economic Development

The 2025 Nnewi Economic Summit has ended with a call for cooperation among stakeholders to drive economic development in Anambra State. The summit, themed "Repositioning Nnewi for Sustainable Economic Development," was organized by the Nnewi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (NCCIMA) in partnership with the Anambra State Ministry of Industry.



Governor Chukwuma Soludo, represented by Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, emphasized the state's commitment to Power Sector Reforms and the Nnewi Industrial and Automotive Park Project. He noted that the reforms will stimulate competition, drive down power costs for industries, and enable a 24-hour economy that will increase productivity and employment.

The governor also highlighted the government's plan to transform traditional trading centers into smart, structured commercial zones. He challenged traders to adapt to Nigeria's evolving demographic and economic landscape, emphasizing the need for innovation and digitalization.

The summit attracted participants from various sectors, including industrialists, government officials, traditional rulers, media practitioners, and business stakeholders. Stakeholders expressed optimism about the future of Nnewi's infrastructure and the potential for economic transformation.

The Anambra State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to driving economic development through Public-Private-Community Partnerships. The summit's resolutions and discussions are expected to catalyze economic growth not only for Nnewi but for the entire state.

The government's initiatives, including the Power Sector Reforms and the Nnewi Industrial and Automotive Park Project, are designed to create a conducive business environment and stimulate economic activity. The state is also working to harness its indigenous gas reserves and promote competition in energy supply.
