NDLEA RECEIVES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES COMMITTEE ON DELEGATED LEGISLATION

The Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Brig. Gen. MB Marwa (Rtd) CON, OFR, received Rt. Hon. Richard Olufemi Bamisile, Chairman, House of Representatives Committee on Delegated Legislation, and members of the committee on a familiarization visit to the NDLEA National Headquarters in Abuja on Friday, 4th July 2025.



The visit was aimed at familiarizing the committee members with the agency's operations and discussing matters of mutual interest. The committee members were briefed on the agency's mandate, achievements, and challenges.

During the meeting, the NDLEA Chairman briefed the committee on the agency's efforts to combat drug trafficking and abuse in Nigeria. He highlighted the agency's successes and challenges, including the need for increased funding and support to effectively carry out its mandate.

The committee members expressed their commitment to supporting the agency's efforts and strengthening collaboration between the legislature and the NDLEA. They also sought to understand the agency's needs and challenges, with a view to providing legislative support where necessary.

The NDLEA Chairman thanked the committee members for their visit and assured them of the agency's commitment to working closely related with the committee. He expressed optimism that the visit would strengthen collaboration between the two bodies and enhance the agency's ability to combat drug trafficking and abuse.

The visit was marked with a photo opportunity, where the Chairman and CEO of NDLEA, alongside top officials of the agency, posed with the committee members. The photo highlights the agency's commitment to transparency and collaboration with other stakeholders.
