Labour Party Slams Governor Otti Over Coalition Party Claims

The Labour Party has reacted to claims by Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, that he has not joined the coalition party. The party's National Chairman, Barrister Julius Abure, has rubbished Otti's claims, saying that the governor is deceiving members of the public.



In a statement issued in Abuja, Abure said that Otti's claims are false and that the governor is already a part of the coalition party. He cited the recent local government election in Abia State, where Otti's party, the Zenith Labour Party, participated. Abure also pointed out that Otti is funding the illegal caretaker committee that has formally joined the ADC.

Abure expressed shock that Otti would try to mislead members of the Labour Party into believing that he is still a member of the party. He noted that Otti was suspended indefinitely from the party due to his anti-party activities and that the party is now recalibrating ahead of 2027.

The Labour Party has reiterated its stance that it will not be part of any coalition that is ideologically bereft. The party's National Chairman emphasized that Labour Party is not and cannot be in any coalition because it is a marriage of political strange fellows whose only agenda is power grabbing.

Abure has called on Governor Otti to move on and stop pretending to be a member of the Labour Party. He emphasized that the party is sanitizing itself of people without character and that Otti's actions are not in line with the party's values.

The Labour Party is recalibrating ahead of 2027 and is eager to engage young Nigerians who have the interest of the nation at heart. The party is willing to let go of everyone, no matter how high, whose interest in Nigeria is self-driven and opportunistic.

The Labour Party has made it clear that Governor Otti's claims of not joining the coalition party are false. The party's National Chairman has called on Otti to move on and stop deceiving members of the public. The Labour Party is focused on recalibrating ahead of 2027 and is committed to its values of integrity and transparency.
