KADUNA GOVERNOR AND DEPUTY HONORED AS PEACE AMBASSADORS AT 2025 SETTLEMENT WEEK
The Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani, and his Deputy, Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe, were honored as Peace Ambassadors during the official opening of the 2025 Settlement Week at the Kaduna State High Court Complex. The honor was conferred by the Kaduna Multi-Door Courthouse (KDMDC) as part of ongoing efforts to promote alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms in the State.
Dr. Balarabe, representing Governor Uba Sani, thanked the Kaduna Multi-Door Court House/ADR Center, describing the decoration as both a symbol of trust and a call to sustained service in advancing peace, justice, and social harmony across Kaduna State. She commended the leadership of the State Judiciary and the Kaduna Multi-Door Courthouse for their transformative role in enhancing access to justice.
Dr. Balarabe noted that the KDMDC has provided timely, people-focused, and affordable alternatives to litigation, helping to resolve disputes, decongest the courts, and restore relationships through mechanisms such as mediation, arbitration, conciliation, and negotiation. She pledged the administration's continued support to the work of the KDMDC, affirming that as Peace Ambassadors, the honorees will promote dialogue, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence in all spaces where they serve.
The 2025 Settlement Week is expected to accelerate the resolution of pending civil and commercial disputes, reduce the burden on formal courts, and further embed a culture of amicable dispute resolution in the State. The Kaduna State Government extends appreciation to the judiciary for its unwavering commitment to justice sector reforms and reaffirms its dedication to strengthening institutions that deliver equity, peace, and fairness to all citizens.
The recognition of Governor Uba Sani and Dr. Hadiza Sabuwa Balarabe as Peace Ambassadors is a testament to their commitment to promoting peace and justice in Kaduna State. As Peace Ambassadors, they will continue to promote dialogue, reconciliation, and peaceful coexistence, contributing to the overall development and progress of the State.
