Jigawa Governor Receives Saudi Arabian Investors, Explores Agricultural Collaboration

Governor Malam Umar Namadi of Jigawa State has received representatives of Saudi Arabia's Al-Yaseen Agricultural Company, who paid him a courtesy visit at Government House in Dutse. The team leader of Al-Yaseen, Dr. Shu’aibu Abubakar, commended the state government's efforts in modernizing agriculture, describing them as unmatched in Nigeria.


Dr. Abubakar expressed Al-Yaseen's readiness to collaborate closely with Jigawa State to accelerate agricultural mechanization and technology adoption. The company is interested in exploring opportunities for partnership with the state government to enhance agricultural productivity and development.

Governor Namadi reiterated the state's commitment to transforming its agrarian economy, highlighting the significant contribution of agriculture to Jigawa's GDP. He noted that agriculture contributes 46% to the state's GDP and employs nearly 90% of its population, underscoring the sector's importance to the state's economy.

The meeting between the governor and the representatives of Al-Yaseen Agricultural Company is expected to yield mutual benefits, with Jigawa State gaining access to modern agricultural technology and expertise, while the company benefits from the state's vast agricultural potential.
