Ekeremor Council Chairman Mediates Land Dispute Between Ogbotobo and Letugbene Communities

The Executive Chairman of Ekeremor Local Government Area, Hon. Onniye Isaac, has intervened in the longstanding land boundary dispute between the Ogbotobo and Letugbene communities. The Chairman received the leadership of both communities in his office and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring peaceful coexistence among all communities under the local government.


The land dispute between the Ogbotobo and Letugbene communities has been ongoing for some time, with both communities having historical and cultural ties. The Chairman's intervention aims to resolve the dispute amicably and promote peace between the two communities.

Hon. Onniye appealed for calm and directed that all activities on the disputed land be suspended with immediate effect pending a government-led resolution. He reiterated that his earlier Executive Order still stands and urged the Trustees of the PIA Board to strictly adhere to the directives issued by the Local Government Council. The Chairman emphasized his commitment to ensuring peace and fostering lasting unity between both communities.

The leaders of both Ogbotobo and Letugbene communities expressed deep appreciation to Hon. Onniye for his timely intervention. They assured him of their total commitment to peace, stating they have accepted the call for calm "101%." The community leaders agreed to work with the local government team to resolve the dispute and promote peace between the two communities.

The local government team, led by the Chairman, will visit the disputed boundary site to better understand the cause of the tensions and chart a peaceful path forward. The visit aims to provide a clearer understanding of the issue and facilitate a resolution that will promote peace and unity between the Ogbotobo and Letugbene communities.
