Delta State Government Provides Financial Relief to Oghareki Market Fire Victims

The Delta State Government has extended financial relief to victims of the December 31, 2024, fire disaster that ravaged Oghareki market in Ethiope West Local Government Area. This gesture reaffirms the government's commitment to the welfare of all Deltans.

The relief funds were handed over to affected persons in a brief ceremony held at the State Government warehouse.

Honourable Commissioner for the Bureau for Special Duties, Hon. Ejiro Terry Etacherure, represented the government in the ceremony.

The gesture is aimed at cushioning the impact of losses suffered by the victims, rather than serving as compensation.

The Delta State Government's decision to provide financial relief to the victims demonstrates its dedication to supporting the well-being of its citizens, particularly in times of need.

The Oghareki market, located in Ethiope West Local Government Area, is a significant commercial hub in Delta State. The market was recently rebuilt as a modern facility, blending traditional and contemporary design, and serves as a catalyst for economic growth in the region.
