Breaking News: Senator Ndume's Bill to Empower Nigerian Youths through Digital Skills

The Nigerian Senate has taken a significant step towards harnessing the digital potential of Nigerian youths with the passage of a bill sponsored by Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District. The bill seeks to establish the Nigerian Institute of Social Media Analysts (NISMA), a center for professional training, research, certification, and employment generation for digital communicators and analysts.



The Bill's Objectives aims to:

- Collaborate with global tech stakeholders, academic institutions, and regulatory agencies.

Senator Ndume, a long-standing advocate for youth development and digital innovation, emphasized that the overwhelming presence of Nigerian youths on social media platforms presents both an opportunity and a challenge. He stated, "Our youth dominate the social media space globally, but many lack the professional guidance and structured career pathways to fully benefit from it. This institute will change that."

If actualized, the Nigerian Institute of Social Media Analysts will empower young Nigerians, addressing multiple national concerns and promoting digital innovation. The institute will equip youths with the skills, structure, and recognition to compete globally, making them the backbone of a thriving digital economy.
