Breaking News: Gombe Governor Inuwa Yahaya Honoured as Champion of Subnational Investment Reform

The Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has been recognized as the "Champion of Subnational Investment Reform" by the Forum of State Investment Promotion Agencies of Nigeria (FoSIPAN). The award was presented at the opening of the Investment Promotion Capacity Development Workshop held in Abuja.



Governor Inuwa Yahaya was commended for his visionary leadership and commitment to deepening subnational competitiveness, institutionalizing ease of doing business frameworks, and championing the establishment of functional Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs a result of his efforts, the Governor was recognized for his role in catalyzing a quiet revolution in how states approach investment. The NIPC Executive Secretary, Ms. Aisha Rimi, praised Governor Inuwa Yahaya's leadership, stating that his work through the Nigeria Governors' Forum (NGF) SABER program has exemplified what is possible when reform is backed by clarity of purpose and sustained political will.

The workshop, hosted by FoSIPAN in collaboration with Afreximbank and other development institutions, brought together senior investment officers from all 36 states and the FCT. The program focused on improving project bankability, investor facilitation, aftercare, and institutional alignment with global investment trends.

The Executive Secretary of the Gombe State Investment Promotion Agency (GOSIPA), Farouk Daudu, shared the state's success story in subnational investment reform. He highlighted the deliberate strategies and policies that have positioned Gombe as the number one state in Ease of Doing Business rankings for two consecutive years.
