BREAKING: Governor Mutfwang Visits Attacked Communities in Riyom LGA, Demands Action Against Perpetrators

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has visited the attacked communities in Riyom Local Government Area, sympathizing with survivors and reaffirming his commitment to protect lives and property.

During the visit, locals took to the streets, carrying placards with inscriptions such as "Fish out the bad egg in the security." This demand comes amid allegations of security agencies' failure to prevent the attacks and apprehend the perpetrators.

Governor Mutfwang condemned the killings in strong terms, assuring the people that his administration would not abandon them in their time of grief. He pledged a comprehensive review of the state's security architecture to ensure those charged with protection discharge their responsibilities without compromise.

The Governor demanded that the security agencies identify and arrest the real perpetrators, rather than targeting scapegoats. He emphasized that the era of "unknown gunmen" is over and that those responsible for the attacks must be brought to justice.

Governor Mutfwang assured the affected communities that the government would organize a dignified burial for those killed and take steps to support those who lost their homes. He also thanked the youth for their courage in defending their communities and pledged to support them morally and otherwise.

The Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Riyom LGA, Rev. Davou Musa, blamed the military for failing in its duty to protect the people and accused some personnel of complicity. He called on the Federal Government to withdraw the military from the area and appealed for urgent humanitarian relief to support the survivors.
