Bindi Community in Plateau State Attacked, Scores Killed and Homes Razed

A devastating attack occurred in the early morning hours in the Bindi Community of Tahoss Ward in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State. The terrorists' assault left scores of people dead and several homes razed, throwing the community into deep mourning.



The attack, which occurred on Tuesday, July 16, 2025, has been described as a "well-planned, calculated and carefully-executed genocide" by Senator Simon Mwadkwon, who visited the community to commiserate with residents. The Senator expressed deep displeasure over the continuous wave of attacks on innocent communities and the seeming slow response of the military and other security agencies.

The community is in shock and grief, with many residents struggling to come to terms with the scale of the devastation. Senator Mwadkwon comforted bereaved families and insisted that those responsible for the attack must be identified and brought to justice.

The Senator called for urgent and strategic measures to prevent further bloodshed and demanded that the security agencies take decisive action to combat terrorism. He also reiterated the need for community policing to tackle insecurity and restore lasting peace to affected communities.

The authorities have been urged to investigate the attack and bring the perpetrators to justice. The community is demanding answers and seeking justice for the victims of the attack.

The attack on the Bindi Community is a stark reminder of the security challenges facing Plateau State and Nigeria as a whole. The government and security agencies must take concrete steps to address the root causes of insecurity and protect citizens from harm.
