Bayelsa State Government Invests in Infrastructure Development


The Bayelsa State Government has invested heavily in infrastructure development, including road construction and rehabilitation. One of the notable projects is the Nembe-Brass road, which commenced in April 2022, with the payment of N16 billion as a mobilization fee. Sand-filling of the 21km stretch of the road is at an advanced stage, with completion expected within 24 to 36 months.



The Bayelsa State Government, under the leadership of Governor Senator Douye Diri, has prioritized economic growth and development. The administration has implemented initiatives aimed at improving agricultural productivity, processing, and marketing. The state government has also supported Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through access to finance, business development services, and market linkages.

The Bayelsa State Government has implemented various youth empowerment programs, skill acquisition training, entrepreneurship development, and job creation initiatives. These programs are designed to equip youths with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in the workforce.

Governor Senator Douye Diri has been unanimously elected as the chairman of the South-South Governors Forum. This role will enable him to coordinate efforts and initiatives that promote the development of the region.

The Bayelsa State Government has completed the 4.22km Igbogene-Okarki road project. The project is a significant milestone in the state's infrastructure development.

The Bayelsa State Government is working on the Outer Ring Road project, which aims to link communities in Ogbia and Nembe Local Government Areas. The project is expected to promote economic growth and development in the state.

The Bayelsa State Government has commenced the rehabilitation and expansion of the Yenagoa-Oporoma Road. The project is expected to improve connectivity and accessibility in the state.

The East Senatorial District road has reached Angiama town, where a bridge is under construction to connect Oporoma, headquarters of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area. The project is a significant milestone in the state's infrastructure development.
