Bayelsa Governor Condoles Oyo Government, Ibadan Indigenes Over Passing of Olubadan
The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Oyo State on the passing of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, Governor Diri described the late monarch as a bridge builder, unifier, and father to all.
Governor Diri recalled the conferment of the Most Outstanding Friend of Ibadan (MOFI) award on him by the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes in May this year. He noted that the award was presented to him by the monarch through the Otun Balogun and former governor of Oyo State, Senator Rasheed Ladoja, in Ibadan. The Bayelsa governor praised the late Olubadan for cementing the bonds of unity between his people, Oyo State, and the government and people of Bayelsa.
Governor Diri stated that the royal father's support, guidance, and peaceful reign engendered an environment for the growth and development of Ibadan land and Oyo State in general under the focused leadership of Governor Oluseyi Makinde. He noted that the late monarch's legacy would be remembered for generations to come.
While mourning the passing of Oba Olakulehin, Governor Diri urged Ibadan indigenes and people of Oyo State to be comforted by the exemplary life and ennobling legacies of the late nonagenarian monarch. He prayed God to grant his subjects, the governor, and people of the state the fortitude to bear the loss.
The Bayelsa governor's condolence message is a testament to the late Olubadan's impact on the people of Ibadan land and beyond. His legacy of unity, development, and peace will be remembered for generations to come. May the soul of the late monarch rest in peace, and may God comfort his family, friends, and the entire Ibadan community during this difficult time.
