Bauchi State Governor Explores Investment Opportunities in Ondo

Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, has paid a courtesy visit to his Ondo counterpart, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the Government House in Akure. The visit was aimed at fostering cooperation and exploring opportunities for mutual benefit between the two states.



During the meeting, Governor Mohammed commended Governor Aiyedatiwa for his visionary leadership, noting that their developmental agendas bear striking similarities. He stated that Governor Aiyedatiwa's vision aligns with the #MyNewBauchiProject, his administration's blueprint, which focuses on attracting investments, developing critical infrastructure, boosting internal revenue, and reducing dependence on federal allocations.

Governor Mohammed was accompanied by Dr. Abbas Waziri, Managing Director of Resident Cement, who is currently establishing a cement factory in Bauchi State. Dr. Waziri has expressed interest in expanding into Ondo State, with plans to invest in the petrochemical industry and establish a fertilizer plant. The proposed petrochemical project in Ondo is worth $2.6 billion, and Dr. Waziri has pledged commitment to seeing it through.

Governor Aiyedatiwa lauded Governor Mohammed for his efforts in developing Bauchi State and expressed appreciation for the visible developmental strides he has made. He also thanked Dr. Waziri for presenting his investment plan and assured him of a conducive business environment in Ondo State.

The meeting highlights the potential for economic growth and development in both Bauchi and Ondo States. The investment in the petrochemical industry and fertilizer plant is expected to create jobs, boost economic activity, and contribute to the growth of the states' economies.
