Abia Governor Concludes 2025 Strategy Executive Council Retreat

The Governor of Abia State has successfully concluded the 2025 Strategy Executive Council (ExCo) Second Quarter Retreat, held at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia. The two-day retreat, themed "Sustaining Momentum: Leadership in Execution," brought together senior aides, facilitators, and strategic partners to reflect on the state's progress and chart a path forward.

The retreat focused on translating insights into tangible actions, resolving real-time challenges, and emphasizing strategic execution, operational clarity, and outcomes aligned with legal frameworks and the public interest. The Governor's commitment to accountable, efficient, and transformative governance was evident throughout the retreat.

The Abia Global Economic Advisory Council (AGEAC) played a significant role in shaping the state's path forward. The council's expert perspectives, shared by members including Professor Arunma Oteh, Mr. Bolaji Balogun, and Mrs. Ifueko Omoigui Okauru, will serve as enduring assets in driving the state's development.

As part of the state's strategic imperatives, all commissioners and heads of MDAs have been mandated to design and implement institutional training programs focused on performance-critical areas. The administration is committed to ensuring that no staff member is left behind in this capacity-building journey.

The administration is launching the Abia Youth Leadership Academy, a bold initiative aimed at training 1,000 young people aged 16 to 20 during the August-September academic break. The academy will offer immersive experiences in character development, civic responsibility, and leadership practice, laying the foundation for active youth participation in governance and community advancement.

The Governor emphasized the importance of execution, stating that a renewed consciousness has emerged, anchored on the collective resolve to translate vision into action. The administration is committed to applying what has been learned to build, serve, and transform Abia State.

The Governor extended appreciation to all who contributed to the retreat, including senior aides, facilitators, and strategic partners. The administration's commitment to collaboration and partnership is evident in its efforts to drive development and progress in Abia State.

As the administration moves forward, it is clear that the focus will be on execution and delivering tangible results. The Abia Youth Leadership Academy and capacity-building initiatives are just a few examples of the administration's efforts to build a brighter future for the state.
