3 MEN SENTENCED TO DEATH ROW FOR 26 YEARS WALK FREE AFTER GOVERNOR OTTI'S INTERVENTION

In a dramatic turn of events, Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has secured the release of three men who were sentenced to death row after 26 years in prison. The released individuals, Mr. Ogbonnaya Igbojionu, Olawale Adediji, and another person who could not join them on their journey to Abia State, were freed after the governor's intervention.

According to sources, Hon. Simon Oshi, who contacted Governor Otti for his intervention, said that he got the information about the case through a social media influencer, Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known on the social media space as "Sea King". Hon. Oshi narrated how he verified the information and brought it to the governor's attention, who immediately sprang into action.

Mr. Ogbonnaya Igbojionu, an indigene of Ikwuano LGA, narrated his ordeal, saying that he was forced to sign a statement he didn't write and was sentenced to death without a fair trial. He was accused of buying a stolen generator from one Segun Ajibade in 1999, and was subsequently arrested and sentenced to death in 2003. Igbojionu spent 26 years behind bars, losing hope of ever regaining his freedom.

Governor Otti thanked Hon. Oshi for his doggedness and consistency and encouraged him to continue doing what he is doing for the society. The governor also appreciated the social media influencer, Olumide Ogunsanwo, who brought the issue to light, saying that God might have allowed him to be remanded in the correctional facility for two weeks just to help the men regain their freedom.

The governor has directed the Commissioner for Local Government and his Power and Public Utilities counterpart to work with the relevant departments of government to ensure that the released men are reintegrated back into society. Governor Otti assured that his government would give them the necessary support to bounce back to life.

The release of these men is a testament to Governor Otti's commitment to justice and humanity. His efforts have brought hope and redemption to the lives of these individuals, who had lost all hope. The governor's directive to reintegrate them into society is a welcome development, and it is expected that they will be given the necessary support to rebuild their lives.

The released men expressed their gratitude to Governor Otti for his intervention. Mr. Igbojionu said, "We are grateful to God and Governor Otti for giving us a second chance at life. We promise to make the most of this opportunity and rebuild our lives." Olawale Adediji added, "We are thankful for the governor's kindness and generosity. We will never forget this gesture."

The release of these three men is a miracle that highlights Governor Otti's commitment to justice and humanity. His efforts have brought hope and redemption to the lives of these individuals, and it is expected that they will be given the necessary support to rebuild their lives. This is a story of hope and redemption, and it serves as a reminder that even in the darkest of times, there is always hope for a better tomorrow.
