Tragedy Strikes Awo-Idemili: Bomb Explosion Claims Life, Injures Several

A devastating bomb explosion occurred in Awo-Idemili, Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, leaving one person dead and five others injured. The incident, which happened at the Eke Ubaheze Market Square, has sent shockwaves through the community.



According to reports, the explosion was caused by a planted landmine, suspected to have been planted by members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra and Eastern Security Network (IPOB/ESN). The victim, identified as Mrs. Ngozi Umeh, a middle-aged woman from Ubaheze village, died shortly after being rushed to the hospital.


The Imo State Command has confirmed the incident and assured the public that adequate security measures have been put in place to prevent further incidents. The command has also launched an investigation to apprehend the perpetrators.

The community has been thrown into deep shock and confusion following the incident. The police have assured the public that the area has been declared safe, and normal activities have resumed under enhanced security surveillance.
