Tiv Monarch Accuses Politicians of Exploiting Terror Attacks for Personal Gain

 The Tiv monarch, His Royal Majesty, Begha U Tiv (V), Orchivirigh, Prof. James Ortese Iorzua Ayatse, CFR, has accused some politicians in Benue State of playing politics with terrorist attacks, rather than working together to combat the menace.



In a meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on June 18, 2025, the monarch expressed concern that some politicians are exploiting the situation for their own gain, praying for more attacks so that a state of emergency can be declared. The monarch emphasized that these politicians do not represent the interests and wishes of the Benue people.


The monarch's statement highlights the need for unity and collective action in addressing the security challenges facing the state.
