Plateau Governor Condoles with Kaduna Over Mob Action
Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has expressed deep shock and sorrow over a mob action in Mangun District of Mangu Local Government Area that claimed the lives of eight individuals from Kaduna State.
The victims, who were traveling to Quan'pan Local Government Area for a wedding, lost their way and inadvertently ran into a tense situation in Mangun, which has been experiencing sustained terrorist attacks. The incident resulted in the loss of eight innocent lives, while several others sustained injuries.
Governor Mutfwang visited the survivors in the hospital and the scene of the incident, expressing profound grief and describing the mob action as "totally condemnable and avoidable." He emphasized that the prolonged attacks on the community do not justify the senseless act against innocent commuters.
The Governor extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and the government and people of Kaduna State. He also constituted a high-powered delegation to visit the Kaduna State Government and the families of the deceased to convey the heartfelt condolences of the Government and people of Plateau State.
Governor Mutfwang directed security agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident, ensure that justice is served, and implement proactive measures to prevent any recurrence. He reaffirmed his administration's commitment to standing with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
The Governor assured that the Plateau State Government will bear the full cost of treatment for the injured victims and directed the General Hospital in Mangu to provide optimal care.
