Abia Governor Commends Outgoing Security Chiefs, Pledges Continued Support

Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, has expressed gratitude to five outgoing security commanders who served in the state, commending their dedication to ensuring the security of lives and property. The ceremony, held at the Banquet Hall of Government House in Umuahia, was attended by current service commanders and other dignitaries.



Dr. Otti praised the outgoing commanders for their service, saying, "I want to use this opportunity to thank you so much for the service that you rendered to our State."

The governor stated that hosting outgoing service commanders has become a tradition of his administration, where they are celebrated and given parting gifts to commemorate their service.

Dr. Otti attributed the state's ability to curb insecurity and criminal activities to the cooperation and support of the security agencies, saying, "That we were able to cage insecurity, kidnapping, armed robbery, banditry, just name it, is because of you."


The outgoing commanders, including Brigadier General O.O. Diya, Navy Captain O.A. Eyitayo, Dr. Shelema Muhammed Soso, and Chidi Nnadi, expressed gratitude to Governor Otti for the honor and recognition.

They expressed confidence that the good relationship between the governor and security agencies would ensure continued security in the state.


Dr. Otti assured the outgoing commanders that Abia State is still their home and invited them to visit anytime.

The governor noted that the ceremony serves as encouragement for current service commanders to put in their best, knowing they will be recognized for their service .
